We respectfully ask for payment at least 48hrs beforehand to confirm the appointment, or at the time of booking if within 48hrs. You will receive an email with information about how to pay. This can be by card or bank transfer (preferred). For medications or further diagnostics undertaken, payment is requested at the time of the visit, by card or bank transfer.
Please note, we only cover the area specified for home visits (we may travel outside of this area for home euthanasia).

First Consultation (NEW PATIENT): £130

Ongoing consultations: £90

Recheck of condition already seen within 2 months/ post op check: £80
Emergency same day service : +£50
(please note this is subject to availability and only carried out if appropriate. We are not an emergency service, in some cases you will be directed straight to a bricks and mortar practice)
Evening consultation: +£50 (by prior arrangement only)
Weekend consultation: +£50 (by prior arrangement only)
Same day weekend consultation: +£90 (subject to availability)
Video Consultation/Advice call/Text advice, where appropriate: £50
(NB if you have query over medication prescribed through the visiting vet, we are happy to provide further information by text/email. Further clinical advice can only be given by booking a consultation; although occasionally a phone or video consultation may be appropriate for a condition which has already been seen).
Insurance Claim Processing: £20 per condition per submission (already included in euthanasia fees)
NB. We can claim on pet insurance just like a conventional practice can - it is up to the insurance company how much of the costs are covered.
We do not do direct claims unless under special circumstances and this would require pre-authorisation from your insurance company to do so.
Vaccinations:
Booster: £95 (additional pets at same visit £75 each)
Kennel Cough: £35 at same time as booster/other consultation; £95 for specific visit
Microchip: £30 at time of booster or other consultation; £95 for specific visit
Puppy vaccination course (2 visits): £200 inclusive of kennel cough vaccination, microchip and one month flea and worm treatment
Kitten vaccination course (2 visits): £200 inclusive of microchip and one month flea and worm treatment
Adult restart (2 visits): £150
Euthanasia:

Euthanasia Cat: £220
Euthanasia Small dog (<10kg): £240
Euthanasia Medium dog (10-25kg): £270
Euthanasia Large dog (25-40kg): £300
Euthanasia Extra Large dog (>40kg): £360
Evening surcharge: +£50 between 6-8pm; +£100 8-12 midnight
Same day euthanasia surcharge: +£50
Weekend euthanasia: +£50
Same day weekend euthanasia: +£75
Pre- euthanasia assessment (clinical examination and discussion - suitable if you aren't sure whether it's time or if you want to discuss possible palliative options) : £130 (full medical history required prior to appointment)
NB. Euthanasias outside of our area may incur a mileage charge.
Cremation prices: these vary by requirement but are in addition to the above prices. You are welcome to arrange cremation or home burial yourself, just let us know.
INDIVIDUAL CREMATION OPTIONS (ASHES RETURNED):
Cremation can be organised with and paid directly to wharfedale pet cremations - please click to contact them and check their price list. Kathryn or Andy will collect your pet from your home and return their ashes to you, aiming to do this within 24 hours (PLEASE CHOOSE THIS OPTION IF YOU WOULD LIKE MORE TIME WITH YOUR PET AFTER EUTHANASIA, WOULD LIKE PAW PRINTS AND HAIR CLIPPINGS OF YOUR PET RETURNING TO YOU, AND/OR YOUR PET IS OVER 20KG).
Cremation can be organised with and paid directly to The Visiting Vet Company (please check to ensure this service is available when booking). We will take your pet with us to the crematorium in Harrogate and return their ashes to you, aiming to return ashes to you within the week. PLEASE NOTE THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE PAW PRINTS OR HAIR CLIPPING, AND CAN ONLY BE CARRIED OUT ON WEEKDAYS, AND WITH PRIOR ARRANGEMENT AND WHERE THE SERVICE IS AVAILABLE.

Our fee includes the cost of a special, single use carrier (Euthabag) for the most dignified transportation to the crematorium, as well as transportation to the crematorium.
